EPS Beta Line
The next generation of EPS production technology increases automation, capacity, flexibility and payback. EPS BETA will be the high performance system steel processors, manufacturers and picklers deploy in their own facilities. It doubles output with:
- 8 Slurry Wheels per Cell
- Quick Coil Loading/Unloading
- Scale Breaker before EPS
- Slurry Stream Width Control
Higher capacity at a low increase in capital cost will make BETA economics very compelling. To stay up-to-date with BETA line developments click here.
New Features
The BETA line will accommodate coil sizes similar to ALPHA, but include automation to make line control 'set it – forget it' easy:
- Real-Time Oxide Detection which controls line speed
- Real-Time Profilometer to control slurry wheel speed to achieve target roughness
- Automatic Grit Adder
- X-Ray Thickness Gage
Also, BETA will incorporate an SCS brushing unit to further smooth the surface when a very low Ra (as low as 50 micro inches) is desired.
The Roles of EPS
EPS Producers will most often use BETA technology as a direct replacement for acid pickling – a new offering for service centers and toll processors alike.
EPS will also be used by existing picklers (1) as a 'first pass' scale removal to increase line speed in large continuous pickle lines, (2) to replace acid tanks when retrofitting push-pull lines.
An EPS sheet line is now under development. EPS processing of sheets raises CTL efficiency by letting you produce heavier stacks, and avoid dirt/oil pickup from the CTL line. An EPS sheet line will cost less than a coil line.
