EPS Sheet Line
EPS processing began replacing acid pickling (P&O) in late 2008, so EPS users and resellers now enjoy using EPS sheet and coils. Advantages of processing EPS sheets directly, rather than sheeting EPS coils on a cut-to-length line, make the development of EPS Sheet Line our highest priority.
EPS coils are prized for their cleanliness, but when these coils are further slit or cut-to-length on equipment that processes dirty hot roll black, the EPS picks up dirt left on the line by that other material. Processing EPS in sheet form will eliminate this.
Market Flexibility
Producing EPS directly in sheet form brings greater flexibility to potential EPS Producers, many of whom supply mostly sheets to their customers. First, it will be easier for them to "get in the game" because EPS Sheet Line capital cost will be markedly less than an EPS Coil Line.
Second, EPS Sheet Line creates more options for sourcing steel. It can be brought in as sheets, of course, but even sourcing in coil form becomes more flexible since coils don't have to first be EPS-processed elsewhere. They can be EPS processed as sheets, right from the cut-to-length line.
Cost Efficiency
An EPS Sheet Line can even make cut-to-length lines more productive. Stacks coming off a CTL line are often bundled to customer spec. Customers don't want oversized bundles, so the CTL stops more frequently to offload stacks. If instead, stacks go to the EPS Sheet Line, they can be much larger, so CTL line interruptions are reduced, and bundle sizes set at the EPS line.
Development/testing of EPS Sheet Line will be completed in 2010. Only then, will sale of EPS Sheet Lines and Coil Lines begin. Stay updated on progress by signing up.
