Becoming an EPS
Producer
Producer
Service Center, Toll Processor and even Mill can appreciate the potential advantages of becoming an EPS Producer:
- No more outsourcing pickling, which saves cost and freight
- EPS Line compact layout
- Capital cost below acid pickling
- Operating cost below acid pickling
- An environmentally-friendly 'green' process with no hazardous acids or chemicals
- Clean, rust-resistant surface
- No more oil on their steel
- Great salt spray test results
- Reduced minor surface flaws
- Custom surface roughness
- Tension leveled shape
EPS As A New, Value-Added Product
Service centers already offer EPS steel, processed by TMW, to replace HRPO and pickled dry. As more steel users convert to EPS, some of these service centers intend to operate their own EPS lines, broadening their scope by letting them replace outsourced acid pickling with in- house EPS processing. That will give them more control over costs and margins, plus a differentiated new product to offer their customers.

Next–generation EPS production lines, both Sheet and Coil platforms, is what service centers will employ. After the 2010 installation and full production tests of EPS Sheet Line, orders for commercial EPS systems will be accepted.
